Adam Taivalkoski (Brokerage Change) Welcome to SAVU Realty!

It has been a long time since I have sent a newsletter. Life has been busy with big changes and this year has been very significant for me. First, 2025 marks my eleventh year in real estate. I have been spoiled with many great clients and they have been keeping me occupied.

Second, I launched my own brokerage, SAVU Realty, in February. Our office is located in downtown Calumet at 203 5th Street. Here is a link to the website: https://www.savurealty.net

In addition to SAVU’s launch this year, I have hired Dean Lahti to help out in the office. He has been a great addition to the team! Our entire team includes:

  • Adam Taivalkoski – Broker/Owner

  • Melissa Rebman – Stager & Designer

  • Dan Kangas – Photographer

  • Krissy VanOyen – Transaction Coordinator

  • Dean Lahti – Office Administrator

One of the uncertainties that I had with launching SAVU Realty was how the name would be received within the community. I’m thrilled to say that it has been well received and I have had an incredible, productive year!

I would like to thank Monte Consulting in Houghton for coming up with the name of SAVU Realty. Monte is a fabulous firm to work with if you are an entrepreneur, have website needs for your business, or are looking to develop your existing brand. Also, a nod to past clients, my friends, and my family who weighed in on branding details before they were finalized.

On a personal note, this year my wife and I welcomed our fourth child. Despite the hectic schedule involving a newborn, I have picked up nordic skate skiing in the past year, reengaged in mountain biking, and I have gotten back into surfing this fall on Lake Superior after taking a five-year hiatus. I feel spoiled to live in a beautiful place where I can take advantage of the outdoors on a year-round basis.

Shifting back to SAVU, some openings that I currently have are a full-time buyer’s agent and a showing assistant. I currently have enough business to support a buyer’s agent as a full-time position. Another option if a part-time role is desired, would be a showing assistant to assist me with some showings. Prior experience is not needed as I am more interested in the right attitude and work ethic.

If you are looking to sell or buy with us in 2026 or sooner, advance notice is always appreciated. Sometimes, it means third-party delays if you wait until the spring to contact me. A possible third-party delay include waiting for contractors to complete necessary prep work, this delay could happen because of the limited pool of skilled labor in our area. Additional third-party delays could involve waiting on land divisions, waiting for a survey to be completed, or a title issue that needs to be addressed. A year can go by quickly and proactive planning almost always leads to better results!

I hope to write more often and if there are any subjects you might be interested in, please let me know! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out through an email response or you can always call me on my cell at (906) 369-1489.

Best regards,
